Castang Wine Shippers and
merchants is an Independent Family business established in 1979. Currently
we operate throughout the South West England, and with
distribution throughout the UK, together with key accounts in other areas
of the country. During the past 28 years, we have steadily increased
our portfolio of wines and agencies by expanding our activities firstly
throughout
Europe and more recently in the New World wineries. Our range now exceeds
450 wines. The business has a wide variety of skills and experience,
which allows us to offer a comprehensive service together with advice to
our clients.
We hope for continued expansion of our activities in the future, mainly
in the field of shipping wines and wine related accessories. Currently we
enjoy a close relationship with many of the worlds leading growers and estates,
and we plan to continuously upgrade our list with products from the best
producers in Europe and the new world.
The main activity of the company is the importation and supply of wines
to private and corporate clients, wine merchants, hotels, restaurants, wine
bars and Universities.
SPECIALITIES OF THE COMPANY
Since 1979 we have specialised in the supply of wines purchased direct from
growers and estates as well as the more traditional method of purchasing
through negociants. Growers have been visited around the world directly at
the vineyards to assess the quality of wines and to check methods of vinification.
Our regular contacts and long term relationships with the wine makers helps
to ensure high quality and thus avoiding badly made and dishonest wines.
We should be pleased to help our clients with their plans to visit any of
our suppliers. I feel that our list represents not only genuine value for
money but also provides a selection of new, interesting, and unusual wines.
Over the years we have placed much emphasis on the selection of top quality
country and house wines; and so with many good wine makers around the world
combined with modern vinification techniques, it never ceases to amaze us
how many anonymous, acidic and overpriced poor quality wines are still passed
off as House wines. Caveat Emptor - BUYERS BEWARE!!!
SERVICES PROVIDED FOR CUSTOMERS
1. Glass hire is available to all customers subject to replacement costs
for breakages.
2. With many years experience we can offer restaurants and hotels advice
on the preparation of wine lists.
3. We are also able to design and print wine lists and menus free of charge
using the latest print technology. Wine lists can be changed as and when
required from individual data base information. .
4. The supply of wine racks to various standard sizes together with the
possibility of a made to measure service.
5. Gift packs and presentation boxes are available on request for most wines.
At Christmas we have a recommended selection of gift cartons ranging from
single bottle to full cases.
6. We are sole organisers of
the Cornwall Wine and FineFood
Fair, which is now the largest such event
in the south west of England with some 3000
people attending and over 300 wine available for tasting. We are now planning
the 2008 event, which will be held on the 11th and 12th March at the China
Fleet Club, Saltash. Tickets will be available on request.
7. We offer a 24 hours contact service by telephone, fax and email. Subject
to status or payment, wines can be distributed throughout the UK. Packing
and delivery charges are available on request. Payment is accepted by electronic
bank transfers, cheque, or cash
